Smaller shaped bowl downplays typically overabundant fruit aromas inherent in Shiraz and Zinfandel, providing a more balanced wine tasting experience. Shape of bowl is designed to let wine pass freely towards back of tongue where tannins are tasted, permitting for a more balanced tasting of tannin against higher acidity levels associated with Chianti Classico and dry Riesling. Tapered narrow opening funnels up inherent aromas of citrus/peach in Riesling and cherry in Chianti
